CFV G: Sunrise Ray Knight, Taiyou

I'm a bit shocked looking through my gallery that I haven't been posting anything Vanguard-related for some time now. Huh.

So, happy belated birthday, Taiyou! 20th of March is Taiyou's birthday, and I got caught up in school work and didn't get to finish this in time. Other than that I wanted to draw Gurguit for some time now so here's an excuse.

I decided to draw Taiyou as his G3 Avatar, Sunrise Ray Knight, Gurguit.

It started out as a plain, harmless chibi but then suddenly all the five fingers appeared alongside deadly details of Gurguit, despite simplifying a little bit. Overall it doesn't feel like a chibi, so I need to work on that... In addition to the chibi-topic, I messed up with the anatomy too haha... His legs should be a liiiittle bit further apart as well as being larger, or making his upper body smaller.

I miscoloured his armour. So that's one again, and it ended up being darker, so instead of yellows I picked up browns. I like it a lot before I coloured his hair because it still looked vibrant, and now there's brown on his hair that seems to make it look duller? I also didn't really shade it like an armour, wanting it to be a quick piece, but the silliest mistake was using the colour black for the darker parts of the bright yellow. Well... oops. His left armour also looked dislocated and I didn't realise after I was done inking it and erased the pencil marks. In addition, the chains connected to the back of their armour- I did the left one first without actually using any guiding lines or pencil sketch, and now it looks much, much stiffer than it should be, or even compared to the right one.

Due to rushing lots of things were actually made messy. Colouring over lines, not testing colours, and even colouring things in a whim and without direction too. Gurguit is a really lovely unit, and trying to grasp all the details was quite... complicated for me.

Hopefully when I draw Gurguit again in the future it'll end up better.
