Escaping the crowd of people at Hermes's Cabin, you looked out at the grey sky. Maybe it'll rain. Hopefully too, you thought.
The dark clouds loomed overhead, forming into a shape of a dark sword. Lightning gave a border of light to the cloud, thunder clapped. Before you knew it, you were on the ground.
You bumped someone. That was... embarrassing. Especially when the cause of bumping is due to cloud-watching.
You looked at the person before you. You recognise him from the war. "Nico di Angelo..." you muttered. You quickly stood and extended your arm towards him. "Oh my gods! I'm so sorry! I didn't see you."
Nico looked at you and accepted your hand. You felt a dark presence in him, but you shook it off. "S-sorry again," you stuttered.
Nico volunteered to speak, "No. I should be the one that's sorry."
I guess he thinks I'm apologising because he's the son of the god of the dead. Probably the scary guy.
You shook that thought off too. "No, I wasn't looking where I was going. I should be sorry," you insisted.
It was getting awkward. Even if Nico di Angelo was a year younger than you, he looked cute in an aviator's jacket. "Okay, then. Anything," he said. It seems like he was evading you. Before you can muster the courage to start a conversation, he left.

    "What are you doing here?"
That voice shocked you. You turned and saw Nico. "Oh... sorry," you said again. After all, you just wanted to tend the plants by his cabin. They were unlike what you've seen. You hoped that you could be Demeter's child, having a high interest in plants.
Nico looked at the plants with disgust. "Pomegranates," he hissed.
"Then why did you plant it?" you asked, sensing his hate for pomegranates.
Nico shot you a smug look. "Why would I plant pomegranates here?"
Oh yeah. Persephone. No wonder he hates pomegranates.
"Sorry to offend," you manage to apologise.
"No... it's OK. After all, it wasn't you who did this and stuff," he said. He sighed and knelt beside you.
"H-how's camp for you?" you managed to stammer. Nico has never seen you, or known you existed until that previous day. Either he was the shy one or the shy one was you. It can change. It would change.
"I guess it's OK," he said, shrugging, and uprooting the pomegranate plants.
"Want me to help?" you asked, sensing that you yourself was blushing tenderly. You looked away, pretending to look at a few other pomegranate plants lined outside of the cabin.
"I see why not," Nico said, slowly forming his words.
You started with the edge of the cabin, far away from Nico. Making sure you were off-sight and off-earshot from Nico, you quickly checked your pulse. It was beating, hard. Fast. Quick. Accelerating like never before. You tried to suppress a gasp, and you muttered to yourself: "What if..."
As usual, you shook the thought away and uprooted the defenceless plants. As you uprooted what you guessed would be your last, you looked at the treasure you have collected. A pomegranate. It was red, and it looked ripe. You decided to hand it to Nico afterwards.
Nico was dumping the plants into a fissure when you approached him. He dumped the others too before closing the gap. You stared at him in awe, but caught yourself. You offered him the pomegranate, and he smiled at you with his thin, pale lips. At that moment, the perfect moment, rain started falling. No, you thought, quickly growing panicked, not now! I wanted it to rain, but... not now!
Nico's eyes looked at you. His hands holding onto the pomegranate you held, the tips of his fingers brushing your hand, the cold sensation tingling as it touched your skin. "Do you want to share this pomegranate with me...? As a sign of gratitude," Nico asked.
As much as you wanted to say yes, you said, "No...! I can't. You don't like pomegranates. I shan't force you."
Why do I care for him? So much?
Nico's smile didn't fade just yet. "I may not like pomegranates, but this one looks sweet. Just this one."
    You thought you blushed.
Even as the rain poured, Nico opened the pomegranate and handed half to you. Silently, the two of you devoured the pomegranate. Friendships has it's beginnings...

...and endings.

You've never seen him here before. He was slashing his Stygian Iron sword against a dummy, looking furious. "H-hey, Nico," you greeted.
Nico looked up, sweating, the furious look still at his face. You know, though, he wasn't angry at you.
    "How's-"
Nico cut your sentence short. "Persephone's mad at me," he huffed, swinging his sword at the dummy, beheading it. You gulped at the headless dummy, but Nico continued talking. "She thought I was disrespecting pomegranates."
"We were, weren't we?" I asked, trying to be gentle.
Nico gazed at you, his eyes sparkled. "That's why I objected I didn't. I wouldn't forget that you were there helping me tear those plants down."
You blushed. Why would he remember I helped?
"Still, I guess it was my idea. I took the blame," he said.
"You shouldn't, after all... if I wasn't there, you wouldn't realise the plants were even there," you protested, although you're touched by his concern.
Nico wrapped the hilt of his sword with his pale fingers. "Too late. I did it because... I... I have feelings for you," he stammered, gazing into your eyes.
You blushed even harder. Your eyes felt moist, as if you were getting teary-eyed. "Oh, Nico," you managed to whisper. That's when friendship ends. Romance started. Or you thought so.

You heard of the legendary pair- Percy Jackson and Annabeth Chase. They made big plans for their future together in love, and you wondered if it will happen to you and Nico. "Well, Nico, you ready?" you asked.
The two of you had made plans to go out together for a little "romantic dinner", but in your heart, you hoped it was going to be a get-to-know-you dinner. It would be embarrassing to think they were dating already! After all, only a month has passed. A month.
Nico nodded. You noticed he tried to fix himself. His messy hair was still messy, and he still wore his aviator jacket. You didn't care- you liked him that way. Note to self: he's cute, you thought.
A few hundred, fifty and ten dollars bills were stashed into your cardigan pocket, and you felt light hearted. You dressed simply- a white shirt with a V-neck line and black leggings. You didn't care how Nico will regard your style. You wanted him to know who you are inside. You also want to know who he really is inside, and this might be you only chance. Blow it or keep cool.
Nico nodded, but he eyed someone glancing him from the Apollo Cabin. You recognise the person- Will Solace. He was a healthy demi-god, and it was good. After you look back and forth at them, you thought of something: Compared to the head-counsellor of the Apollo Cabin, Nico looks pale in comparison, although he...
You looked away, afraid you blushed thinking about how bold Nico looked after he returned and decided to stay in camp. I like Nico the way he is, and I don't want him to change.
"Nico, I... I have this feeling for you," you said, calling Nico to your attention. He gazed at you, his eyes fixed on your eyes. Dropping your voice into a whisper, you said three words you thought you wouldn't say so soon, with such a strong emotion : "I love you."
"I love you too," Nico said, but he said it in such a way, in a hushed voice, very quickly, very emotionless, you thought he didn't mean it.
"Really?" you asked, just to make sure.
There was no time for this, but Nico just twisted his silver skull ring and said, "Well, who are you?"
"You can call me your beloved one," you said, teasingly. I fingered my rose quart pendant in the shape of a teardrop.
"Alright, my beloved one, are we off for dinner?" he asked. He used the words my beloved one, I don't know to cry or laugh. I know, he meant it. Am I that close to him? It doesn't matter anymore to you, for you found yourself hugging him, smiling. You glanced side-wards, seeing Nico's shocked expression fading, and he closed his eyes and closed his fingers around your body.
You didn't care who your audience were. All you care was that if the world ends, you were with Nico, and he was returning your hug.
Hopefully, I'm Aphrodite's child, you thought, and I'll make romance like this last forever. Just me... and Nico.
EDIT 10 December 2020 - Went on a nostalgia trip reading my old fanfictions, fixed a bunch of typos, and heck not one ever told me that it was not spelled "pomegrate"!!

Yeah. Basically, a little practice with second-person-point-of-view. Many people seem to find Nico di Angelo cute (including me myself, I find him amazingly awesome for a demigod. Seriously. Hades's son and give him a few days to rest. He can do like, what? Go to Antarctica for FREE in a few days.).

Okay. I went off topic. Conclusion: I SUCK at the second-person's point of view. Guess what? I can't seem to make you stick to "I" when you read it. This is weird. You're reading a bunch of you-s and it just says: okay, I read this for YOU, so I can't ship my self with Nico. Whine, whine, whine.

Okay, maybe I'm getting a little rough with my words since it's getting late here (especially with this horrible description). I wanted to write a Leo Valdez x Reader because "all da ladies luv Leo", but I guess he's...

SPOILER ALERT:

GONE WITH CALYPSO! HE JUST used Festus and the two rode off to nowhere. Huh. Go figure.

Anyway, I'm kind of OK with this, but I think next time I need to put I-s instead. If you're attentive, you might actually realise this "you" has NO specified gender! Why? Nico admitted he was in love with Percy Jackson in the House of Hades, and that means he's...

Forget the word.

In The Blood of Olympus, it is hinted he might take a liking to Will Solace, that guy he was staring at towards the end of the story. Basically, this "you" doesn't know Nico liked Percy/Will. Okay?

Basically, I twisted my original plot too much. It wasn't supposed to be all lovey-dovey, and I think I exaggerated it with the "my beloved" part.

Guess that's all I wanted to put in the description.

It means you CAN'T use it for personal advantages.

Tell me if I missed anything.
Enjoy the pairing.
(I don't really like the pairing myself anymore towards the end of The Blood of Olympus.)
